Challenge
While historically focused on the frequent flyer, Southwest found its loyalty program, Rapid Rewards, lacked appeal to the less frequent flyer, a significant share of domestic flights. The company needed a way to become more competitive among this audience segment without alienating its core or jeopardizing program profitability.

Solution
Designed and implemented the Rapid Reward Visa credit card, providing additional ways for the less frequent traveler to earn credit towards free trips. Launched with the most lucrative consumer offer in the industry, and true to the Southwest brand, the greatest simplicity and affordability.

Result
Exceeded portfolio growth of any other startup co-branded card, with revenues exceeding projections by over 200% while enhancing vendor relationships with additional marketing and operational support. Currently serves as mechanism for critical top-line revenue growth and customer acquisition.
